Transport Co-ordination Officer (Customer Information Technical Support)
- Exeter, Devon
- Full Time
- £30,518 - £33,699 per annum

A position has become available within the public transport team for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who will be critical in ensuring bus users get the most accurate and timely information possible about their journey.
This role will take ownership of our Real Time Information (RTI) system, located at hundreds of bus stops across Devon and visible to thousands of users each day. The post holder will be responsible for working closely with our RTI Contractor and bus service operators to ensure the system works correctly. The postholder will need a deep technical understanding of the system and the various data feeds.
Alongside RTI responsibilities, this role will also manage the Naptan database on behalf of Devon County Council, ensuring that bus stops are accurately pinpointed and named to make journey planning as easy as possible, working closely with colleagues from NPTI (National Passenger Transport Information).
The postholder will also take responsibility for Customer Information during disruption, ensuring that accurate information is obtained from Utility Companies, colleagues in Highways and Bus Operators to correctly advise customers of diversions and bus stop suspensions, both via electronic means (such as RTI screens and websites), but also in printed format which you will design and print.
This role will also administer any future Bus Stop Suspension Fees scheme, which would involve keeping accurate records of disruption and raising Purchase Orders and/or Invoices.
This is a challenging, but vital role as a part of a small team delivering public transport for Devon’s residents and visitors.
Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to work out of County Hall, Exeter the majority of the time.
Within your application please give clear real-life examples of how your experiences match the requirements of the role.
