St Peter’s is an oversubscribed school, known as a high performing school and nationally recognised for our approaches to character education. Our most recent Ofsted inspection (‘Good’ April 2025) and Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) inspection (‘Excellent’ May 2019) indicate the significant progress we have made in developing well rounded students who ‘live life to the full’.
Required as soon as possible. These posts are fixed term until 31 August 2027, to assist with provision of the special needs of pupils/English as an Additional Language and are subject to their continued attendance at the school and/or the result of any review of their special needs.
Post 1: Full Time, 29 hours and 10 minutes per week (Monday - Friday), 38 weeks per annum (plus one training day per academic year)
Post 2: Part Time, in the region of 12.5 hours per week (2 days), 38 weeks per annum (plus one training day per academic year)
As a result of a number of our current Teaching Assistants (TAs) successfully moving onto teacher training courses and increasing numbers of students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), we are excited to be looking at recruiting two TAs. Applications from candidates with experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) needs and those who are seeking to become teachers are strongly encouraged to apply. TAs will be working within a team supporting students who have needs relating to Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Physical and/or Sensory needs.
Personal skills would include:
• A high level of patience.
• Ability to empathise.
• Good listening skills.
• A good sense of humour.
• An English and Maths qualification at C grade General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or above (or equivalent).
