This exciting new role will play a vital role in the successful delivery of the Connect to Work Programme within the Economy, Enterprise and Skills service.
The postholder will be responsible for the overall management of the central operational functions of the Connect to Work programme team.
This is a large-scale supported employment programme funded by the Department for Work and Pensions, designed to help individuals overcome barriers to employment, develop skills, and access sustainable job opportunities. The programme will support over 6,000 people across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay by 2030.
As the successful candidate you will have experience of managing complex projects and partnerships. You will play a key role in ensuring effective systems are in place to support all delivery partners. A key aspect of this role will be to manage the central database (Cognisoft YETI), to ensure that the system supports performance management and continuous improvement of the programme. The post holder would be expected to work closely with delivery teams, stakeholder and suppliers in support of the Programme Manager.
The post holder will also be responsible for managing the claim processes with the funder and partners.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you also have:
- Experience of project and/or programme management, including monitoring performance and outcomes
- Experience of systems development and management
- Experience of working with external partners
- Experience of managing contractual relationships with suppliers
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience of working within employment, skills or economic development programmes
- Ability to manage budgets and deliver outcomes within agreed timescales
The successful candidate will be a strong leader, adaptable and solution-focused, with the ability to work strategically while also ensuring effective day-to-day delivery. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative and evolving environment.
