We have a small pot of money to revive the Walk, by finding and training 4 new volunteer Walking Tour Guides. There will be a separate process to revise and update the Walking Tour leaflet.
An Advisory Group has been set up and has already met twice. Members include DDE staff, RAMM staff and members of the original ‘Telling Our Stories’ Exeter project. See www.tellingourstories.org.uk
Working with the Advisory Group, the role of the Co-ordinator will be to:
- Devise and implement the advertisement and the procedure for recruiting the new Guides.
- Assist with assessing, interviewing and selecting the 4 volunteer Guides – or more than 4, if more come forward.
- Plan the training programme for the Guides. 8 half-day sessions have been allocated for this.
- Run the training sessions, calling on support from members of the Advisory Group and others.
- Prepare the launch of the new Guided Walks and hold an inaugural Walk.
There is a small payment of £50 a session for the volunteer Guides.
There is a payment of £3000 for the Co-ordinator, i.e. £150 per half day, 20 half days, including 8 working with the volunteers, 8 planning and 4 Advisory Group meetings.
