About the role:
My Future, My Way is Devon’s new systemwide model for accommodation and support for young people aged 16–25. We are seeking a skilled and motivated My Future, My Way Coordinator to help lead the development and effective implementation and delivery of this new model across the county.
We need someone passionate and committed to making sure that young people have the very best outcomes. We need someone with strong negotiation skills, incredible tenacity and a good knowledge of housing and social care, willing to go the extra mile to make sure young people are safe and on the right track to achieve independence.
You will act as the central point of contact for all commissioned My Future, My Way services, ensuring clear processes, strong partnership working, and high-quality outcomes for young people. You will support young people, providers, partners and internal teams to work collaboratively, solve problems, and maintain consistency across services, pathways and practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence a large, long-term programme and improve the lives of care experienced young people aged 16-25 across Devon.
This is a fixed term post up until April 2028.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinating the My Future, My Way referral and allocation processes, including coordinating multiagency decision-making panels.
- Ensuring young people’s voices shape services, support and decision making.
- Developing and monitoring systems, procedures and quality frameworks to ensure consistent delivery across all services.
- Providing professional advice on accommodation pathways, statutory duties and best practice.
- Building strong relationships with providers, District Councils, Children’s Social Care teams, Housing, NHS, Police, and other partners.
- Producing reports and presenting to governance boards as required.
- Supporting commissioners with performance intelligence, service monitoring and continuous improvement including working with our QA team.
- Leading communication approaches to ensure young people, partners and the public understand and can access the My Future, My Way offer.
- Managing competing priorities, urgent placements, and complex cases, ensuring safe and effective outcomes.
Who we’re looking for:
You will bring:
- Strong understanding of Children’s Social Care, Housing legislation and supported accommodation requirements.
- Experience of partnership working and leading multi‑agency processes.
- Ability to analyse data, interpret performance trends and identify improvement needs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience developing processes, procedures or systems across services or organisations.
- Confidence in managing risk, challenging decision‑makers and advocating for young people.
- A positive, creative and solution focused approach to problem solving.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in service delivery.
