Orchard Vale Community School are seeking a highly motivated Kitchen Manager to join our school team. The postholder will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen and will lead in the cooking and serving of food to customers within the school catering service to maximise the quality and efficiency of the service, providing customer satisfaction at all times.
About the Role
Please note that the pro-rata salary for this role is between £18,625 (D8) and £19,857 (D12) gross per annum (subject to change depending on agreed working pattern on appointment)
We are seeking someone who is passionate about providing fresh, healthy food for the children and staff and who will work closely with our school team. We employ our own catering staff to provide in house catering. We have a large, well-equipped kitchen and a friendly team and an experienced Academy catering lead who will work alongside you.
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will:
- Manage the day-to-day preparation of meals to a high standard within budget.
- Order food and materials.
- Maintain a hygienic kitchen.
- Effectively manage other members of the kitchen team.
- Promote the service to attract the maximum number of children and positively encourage healthy food choices.
- Possess knowledge and experience as a Kitchen Manager along with the minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Catering; Level 3 would be preferable.
- Have a proven track record of managing teams and controlling catering budgets.
