We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic Inclusion Assistant to join our friendly primary school. This is a rewarding role where you will help every child feel valued, supported and able to succeed.
Working closely with our SENCo and teaching staff, you will play an important part in making sure all pupils—including those with SEND—can access learning in class, build confidence and enjoy school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Support inclusive strategies to meet common SEND needs in the classrooms.
- Deliver targeted interventions (1:1 and small group).
- Support complex needs pupils when requested.
- Adapt resources and learning so all children can take part.
- Promote pupil independence, engagement, and wellbeing.
- Support positive behaviour, attendance, and belonging.
- Support playtimes, enrichment activities and wider school life.
- Help create calm, inclusive and engaging learning environments.
- Work with staff and families to support children’s progress.
- To provide and support training of school staff.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience of working with children (SEND experience desirable).
- Understanding of inclusive practice and barriers to learning in school.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A flexible, proactive and positive approach to a wide range of pupils and tasks.
- Willingness to learn and be adaptable to needs that can change on a daily basis.
