We are delighted to be extending our vibrant school community by launching “Tiger Cubs”; a brand-new, dedicated care provision specifically for two-year-old children. We believe that a child’s educational journey starts with high-quality early years care and we are looking for an enthusiastic, nurturing, and dedicated Early Years Teaching / Nursery Assistant to help shape this exciting new provision. Working within our school environment offers a unique opportunity to build strong, seamless transitions for our youngest learners as they grow into our Nursery and Reception classes.
As a core member of our early years team, you will establish a warm, secure, and stimulating environment tailored to the unique developmental needs of two-year-olds.
The Role
As a core member of our early years team, you will establish a warm, secure, and stimulating environment tailored to the unique developmental needs of two-year-olds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Act as a Key Person to a small group of two-year-olds, building strong, trusting partnerships with parents and carers.
- Create a playful, language-rich environment that promotes physical, emotional, and social development.
- Observe, track, and assess children's progress, planning age-appropriate next steps.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, safeguarding, and well-being at all times.
About You (Person Specification)
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with toddlers—someone who understands that learning at this age involves curiosity, messy play, and lots of reassurance.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or Level 2 with a commitment to working towards Level 3).
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of child development for two-year-olds and the EYFS framework.
- Experience: Proven experience working with children under three years old in a registered childcare setting.
- Skills: Exceptional communication skills, a patient nature, and a proactive, collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Certifications: Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to train immediately).
