Assistant Principal - Clyst Vale Community College
- Exeter, Devon
- Full Time
- Leadership L10 - L12

Clyst Vale is a thriving and vibrant 11 - 16 Community College situated five miles from Exeter. Visitors to Clyst Vale usually comment on the friendly, orderly atmosphere, the courtesy of our students and the purposefulness in lessons. We have clear expectations and systems, but far more important are the excellent working relationships we establish between staff and students, as well as staff and parents. We remain the only Secondary school in Devon to be accredited Gold Rights Respecting School status.
As part of our ongoing work to align the College’s leadership structure with current OFSTED priorities and the national expectations set out in the DfE White Paper and wider Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) reforms, an exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint an effective leader to the role of Assistant Principal (Culture & Community).
You will be responsible for, and oversee, our Rights Respecting School programme, the College's House System, student enrichment, Year 7 transition programme, community engagement and celebration events.
As a member of our senior team, you will play a key role in delivering the highest quality support and leadership in all aspects of college life in order to ensure equitable access for all.
The ideal candidate will be someone with middle leadership experience who is looking to progress to the next stage of their teaching career.
We can offer:
• A unique opportunity to work within a Rights Respecting School with a strong community ethos.
• A supportive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.
• Free on-site parking.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for all successful candidates. Online checks will be carried out for all shortlisted candidates. You can find our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy here. Please note, we do not offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship to non-UK citizens.
