Are you an experienced applications professional looking for a role where you can combine technical expertise, problem-solving and customer engagement?
We are looking for an Applications Analyst Level 3 to join our Software as a Service Team. You will help develop, implement, manage and support a diverse portfolio of business applications, integrations and digital services used across Devon County Council and by the people of Devon.
This varied role covers the full application lifecycle. You will provide second and third-line support, investigate complex incidents and problems, implement controlled changes, maintain application security and availability, and work with suppliers and internal teams to deliver reliable services. You will also gather business requirements, assess technical options and help customers agree practical solutions that deliver measurable benefits.
The successful candidate will be expected to be confident in a variety of technologies and fully competent to act as a technical lead in one or more of the following:
- C#, .NET and JavaScript
- Python for automation and data workflows
- Azure development and administration, including Azure Functions, Data Factory and pipelines
- SQL databases and application integrations
- Low-code solutions
- Document management systems
You will need strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to use logs, application monitoring, testing and data investigation to diagnose failures. Experience of application development, integration, business analysis or supporting enterprise applications in a large organisation would be particularly valuable.
We are looking for someone who communicates clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, welcomes peer review and enjoys sharing knowledge.

The post is formally based at County Hall, Exeter, although you may be required to travel to other sites around Devon.
