Tiverton High School is an innovative and successful school situated within easy reach of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We have over 1200 students aged 11-16 on roll and have a genuinely comprehensive intake. Our philosophy is grounded on the belief that ‘we are here to help children succeed: it’s that simple’.
We are a co-operative trust school and have recently joined a formal federation with Heathcoat Primary and Rackenford C of E Primary School.
Our Performing Arts department are seeking a teacher of drama. The ability to offer both drama and dance would be an advantage, but is not essential.
The Performing Arts is a successful curriculum area at Tiverton High School and we are looking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated teacher to join an enthusiastic forward-thinking team. There are opportunities for development within this department, which could potentially result in additional responsibility for the right candidate. The position will start in September 2019.
All students follow a Performing Arts curriculum in Year 7; Dance, Drama and Music as discrete subjects in Year 8, and all three subjects are well established in KS4. Both Dance and Drama are delivered in well-resourced studio spaces with a professional community theatre space used for regular school productions and showcases. We have a flourishing extra curricula and enrichment programme.
If you are willing to go the extra mile and share our ambition to provide an outstanding education to fantastic children, then we would welcome your application.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact us on 01884 256655 to arrange this.
For further information or for an application pack, please contact Meg Hepworth on 01884 256655 or email@example.com.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
