The Trustees of Riviera Education Trust and Governors of Oldway Primary School thank you for your interest in the post of Class Teacher at our Outstanding school. The successful candidate for this permanent position will be expected to take up post on Monday 2 September 2019.
The Trustees and Governors seek to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to join our 3-form entry school in our of our KS1 or KS2 classes in a permanent position.
You will lead learning and teaching within a KS1 or KS2 class, planning and delivering an exciting, creative and engaging curriculum that meets the needs and interests of all pupils within the class. You will deploy support staff effectively to support, extend and assess pupils’ learning. Learning will focus on key skills in English and maths as well as social, emotional and personal development and all areas of the National Curriculum. A key aspect of the role will be supporting parents in their children’s learning, developing pupils’ independence and curiosity, monitoring and assessing pupil progress and reporting on progress to parents and senior leaders. You will also be responsible for creating an exciting, stimulating and hands-on learning environment for the pupils in your class.
You will be also well-supported by a Year Leader within your team and our Assistant Heads. The Deputy Head is the school’s SENCO and Designated Safeguarding Lead and there is also a Pastoral Manager who leads the pastoral team. You will benefit from a supportive Induction Programme and will be allocated a professional and pastoral mentor as well as Continuing Professional Development and opportunities to engage in action research through Oldway’s lead school status of Torbay Teaching School Alliance. You will also have the opportunity to join a Subject Development Team where you will contribute to the development of a subject or area of school improvement across the school and have the opportunity to develop leadership skills.
