The Cornerstone Academy Trust is responsible for Broadclyst, Westclyst and Yeo Valley Primary Schools and will be opening another new school in the Monkerton area of Exeter. It utilises its Academy freedoms to deliver an enriched and exciting project-based, problem-solving curriculum.

Now is an exciting time to become part of the Teo Valley team, as well as the wider Cornerstone staff.

We are looking to recruit an Early Years Teacher with either QTS or EY Teacher Status. Required for September 2019, to be based in our 20 place Nursery class. The EYP will manage the day to day organisation of the class and work closely with your wider peer network which will include the Early Years Lead Teacher, the EY Teachers at our other schools, as well as the local Nursery Plus team which is based at Yeo Valley.

We are looking for an inspiring and professionally thoughtful candidate who must be able to use a range of teaching styles and appropriate strategies to meet the needs of all children. To be the successful candidate you will need to have good experience of working in the Early Years, have an excellent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and be both creative and passionate about learning. You must have high expectations for children’s outcomes in relation to the Early Learning Goals and be confident to lead a team of Early Years Practitioners to deliver those outcomes.

You will be part of a strong trust-wide EYFS team that work together to create a high-quality provision from 2 – 5 years of age. Our schools offer an exciting, extended and enriched curriculum and expect all practitioners to fully engage in the provision of this, through the use of the outdoors and in the extended day with the wide range of after-school activities that we offer. You will also be expected to use ICT in a fully integrated way as a tool to support your planning, teaching, tracking of the curriculum and in the activities within the classroom to support the children’s development.

The successful candidate will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment to help them fulfil their duties and will work in a modern and well-equipped successful nursery. As an employer we offer our employees access to the local government pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme, as well as subsidised meals.

Visits to the school are welcome by prior arrangement. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Hours of work are 8.30am to 5.30pm on a Monday, with a 3.30pm finish Tuesday to Friday. In addition, a further 2 hours will be worked according to need during the week. You will work 40 weeks per year being term time plus 2 weeks.

The salary for this position will depend on your status and experience and will be discussed at interview.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this post.

We are looking for the candidate to start in September and will therefore be interviewing during the holiday period as and when suitable candidates apply.
