The Cornerstone Academy Trust is responsible for Broadclyst and Westclyst Community Primary Schools and will be opening another new school in the Monkerton area of Exeter. It utilises its Academy freedoms to deliver an enriched and exciting project-based, problem-solving curriculum.

Broadclyst has been rated outstanding by Ofsted, and in addition, it is a Microsoft Showcase School. The Trust also runs a Teaching School and is an approved Academy Sponsor.

Now is an exciting time to join this growing academy trust, which is internationally recognised for its use of ICT as a tool for both teaching and learning.

We are recruiting an Early Years Class Teacher for September 2018, to be based in initially in our Nursery class. The post is fixed term in the first instance, it will end in July 2019.

We are looking for an inspiring and professionally thoughtful teacher who must be able to use a range of teaching styles and appropriate strategies to meet the needs of all children. To be the successful candidate you will need to have good experience of working in the Early Years, have an excellent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and be both creative and passionate about learning. You must have high expectations for children’s outcomes in relation to the Early Learning Goals and be confident to lead a team of Early Years Practitioners to deliver those outcomes for over 100 children in what is a large school-based Nursery setting.

You will be part of a strong EYFS team with 4 Reception classes that work together to create a high-quality provision from 2 – 5 years of age. Our schools offer an exciting, extended and enriched curriculum and expect teachers to fully engage in the provision of this, through the use of the outdoors and in the extended day with the wide range of after-school activities that we offer. You will also be expected to use ICT in a fully integrated way as a tool to support your planning, teaching, tracking of the curriculum and in the activities within the classroom to support the children’s development.

Our employees have access to a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment to help them fulfil their duties as well as PE kit.

Visits to the school are welcome by prior arrangement. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this post.
