Would you like the opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives, to promote a love of learning and to enable people to achieve things they never thought they were capable of?

If you are enthusiastic about adult learning, able to inspire and challenge learners, offer differentiated learning and think on your feet, then come and work for Learn Devon!

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Maths tutor to work with adult learners. You must hold a teaching qualification and a level 4 Maths qualification, be familiar with the OFSTED education inspection framework and have had experience delivering GCSE and functional skills.

Our learners are a diverse group and attend our classes for many reasons: to gain qualifications for career development, to support their children, to enable them to move into work or to keep their minds active. Our tutors are adept at encouraging and supporting learners in their learning journey. We work within small groups in the local community and deliver learning in response to local need.

This post is based in Tavistock, however there is the expectation that the postholder will travel to other centres and venues around West Devon and be available for at least one evening per week. We are particularly looking for someone able to work in Holsworthy and Okehampton when we return to face to face delivery. We are currently teaching the majority of our classes online via Zoom and we would welcome applications from people who enjoy the challenge of remote delivery.

Our tutors are on an annualised hours contract and most of our delivery happens during term time however there will be staff training and meetings planned in some school holidays.
