This is an exciting opportunity, funded by National Lottery Community Fund, to expand and develop our services to boys and young men. The aim of the post is to provide a range of age-appropriate support and information services to boys and young men, aged 11 - 25, in our community who are affected by domestic violence and abuse.
A significant aspect of the job will involve working with boys and young men who are in need of a positive role model to help them deal with their experiences. The post holder will also develop and provide age appropriate group work and be involved in the co-delivery of training and awareness sessions in schools, youth clubs and to other agencies.
Experience of direct work with Children and Young People and a counselling qualification or willingness to work towards this are desirable for the role. In addition, an understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and abuse, and knowledge of risk assessment, risk management and safety planning are preferable.
NB: Male applicants only - genuine occupational requirements: Equality Act 2010.
It is also essential that applicants have access to car and hold a clean driving license.
