Due to the retirement of the current postholder we are delighted to advertise this vacancy for a suitable person to join the childrens social care academy in the childrens social care service Devon County Council. This is a crucial role in the academy and provides a great opportunity to the post holder to take responsibility to contribute to the learning and development of staff in the service.
The role is multi-faceted: you will have responsibility for the management, oversight and co-ordination of key learning and development projects and learning programmes for staff in the service. You will also be our link officer to research and practice, lead the service research group, co-ordinate the management learning programmes in the service and have line management responsibility for one of the administrators in the team.

The service is committed to the culture of excellent practice in the service and your role, and the innovative and creative approach that you will take, will contribute to the achievement of this aspiration.

You will have proven knowledge and skills in the learning and development of practitioners in childrens social care. You will have organisational skills and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and external organisations who have been commissioned to provide learning events to the service. You will bring a drive and enthusiasm to this area of work.
