This position will also involve supporting families who are in crisis, or where there is concern about placement stability. You may also be required to deliver workshops to parents and help facilitate support groups and assist in the delivery of therapeutic parenting courses. This role will include adult adoption counselling, including writing file summaries for adult adoptees and may also involve offering birth family support when needed.
You need to have experience of working with children and families and ideally safeguarding, adoption and group work experience. You must demonstrate an up to date knowledge of social work practice in relation to permanence and understand the needs of adoptive families and adoptees.
