As a Contact Supervisor, your role will include transporting children to and from their carers and supervising contact sessions providing support to children and their families as required and in order to maintain safety.

Use of your own car is essential. Excellent observational skills and attention to detail are required along with the ability to remain impartial and confident when supervising complex cases and situations. You will need to be extremely reliable, adaptable to change and above all passionate about meeting the needs of the child.

You must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm and build positive working relationships with families in order to diffuse challenging and difficult situations. You will need to be confident in both lone working as well as working effectively as part of a team.

You will be required to work closely with your Area Team Leader, other Contact Supervisors, Children’s Social Work staff and foster carers to best meet the needs of the child; this will also mean attending meetings around the child, attending court and assisting Children’s Social Work staff.

For each contact you will be required to submit a prompt and factual report, which may be used in Care Proceedings and could be used in Court. You will have a clear understanding and a willingness to use IT systems for recording purposes.

Contact Supervisors are expected to work flexibly, with operational hours between 7.30am and 8.30pm. This could be at short notice and will include some Saturday working in order to best meet the needs of children and families.

We are looking for an individual who has a minimum of one year experience of working with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults. Consideration will be given to those who have alternative transferable skills relevant to this post.

Ideally you will hold a Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People’s Workforce.

You will have the ability to travel according to the needs of the job.
