Devon County Council seeks to recruit a creative practitioner to the post of Forensic Social Worker / Approved Mental Health Professional. You will have good risk assessment skills, and a clear understanding of the challenges facing people with a diagnosis of mental health combined with offending behaviours. You will be joining an established and supportive team of forensic social workers.  This opportunity offers a limited caseload within an inpatient setting, dynamic multidisciplinary working and a beautiful setting with great facilities.

We are happy to receive applications from experienced social work practitioners and AMHPs.


You will be attached to a Multi-disciplinary Team, providing a comprehensive social work service to a client group within a medium and / or low secure environment comprising of mentally disordered people detained under the Mental Health Act. You will actively
contribute a social perspective to forensic risk assessment and care planning, be the safeguarding lead within the Multi-disciplinary Team, prepare and present reports for Mental Health Tribunals, and provide links between the inpatient service, carers and families, partner agencies and community teams.
