Devon, Somerset and Torbay Trading Standards Service are looking to recruit a Trading Standards Officer to their Business Support and Innovation Team.

As a Joint Service, Devon, Somerset and Torbay Trading Standards is one of the largest in the UK, operating an intelligence led and innovative approach to regulation and service delivery. Our Business Support and Innovation team delivers work across the breadth of Trading Standards functions and enjoys expertise and input from Economic Development officers to add complementary products to our existing regulatory offers.

The successful candidate will be expected to complete enforcement and regulatory duties across all areas of trading standards legislation; an interest in animal health work is desired as the successful candidate should expect to undertake animal health and welfare inspections.

This vacancy is open to those with appropriate skills and attributes looking to enter the profession and to those already qualified. Training will be available and appointment will be made to the appropriate grade within our career progression scheme (currently under review due to changes at a national level).

More information about our service can be found at www.devonsomersettradingstandards.gov.uk

A choice of location is available; either our Chelston office, just off junction 26 of the M5, or at County Hall in Exeter, although the successful candidate will be required to work across the whole of the Service area.

For an informal discussion, please contact Mark Peacock, Janet Rudd or Rachael Holden on 01392 383000.
