Location: Trust Wide, Exeter Based
Required to start January 2023.
We are wishing to recruit a Site and Facilities Caretaker to join the existing team of caretakers who work across the four schools within the Academy Trust.
The role will include varying aspects of facilities management making it an interesting and dynamic job. We regularly have many ongoing building improvement projects, where good construction skills are required, such as general building, carpentry or plumbing skills. Examples of the types of projects you might be involved in include construction of fences, hanging doors, laying a concrete foundation and erecting a shed, refurbishment of classrooms, installing kitchen units and appliances etc. The successful candidate will also be involved in ongoing site maintenance requirements which might include cutting grass, landscaping, painting and decorating, site security and premises lock up and responding to alarm call outs. The site team need to ensure that the school sites are clean, safe and ready for the staff and children who work and learn in them each day.
The successful candidate will report to the Trust Facilities Manager and work closely with the leadership team to help manage the different sites. We are seeking someone who is adaptive, patient and talented, a great team player and a good communicator. Self-motivation and a pride in their work will be equally vital to ensure high standards of workmanship.
You will need to be able to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act as we have a fleet of minibuses, vans and a car.
We wish to employ someone for 45 hours per week, usually between 7.30am and 5pm with a 30-minute lunch break, all year round on a permanent basis. Exact time patterns can be discussed at interview. The salary for this position will commence at around £22,800.
