Neighbourhood Highway Technician

We are seeking a Neighbourhood Highways Technician (NHT) to be based at our Heron Road Depot, Exeter.
The role is to work within the Neighbourhood Highway team to recognise local issues and to provide advice and information on highway and traffic management work.
The role includes the following tasks:
- Coordinating advice on local priorities for highway maintenance and traffic management, and providing local input to planned work programmes.
- Providing high quality customer service, focussing on assisting in technical investigation and assessment of highway and traffic management enquiries and requests.
- Supporting, consulting and advising local elected Members, Local Councils and community groups on highway and traffic management issues, works and programmes and identifying local community priorities.
- Assist with expediting the smooth flow of traffic during roadworks and special events by assessing and processing Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.
These tasks are to help in ensuring that the highway is safe and available to use whilst maintaining a high quality environment and ensuring the expeditious movement of traffic.
