This is an exciting time to join us at Cornerstone Academy Trust, with schools based on the edge of Exeter in East Devon and in the coastal town of Barnstaple in North Devon. The Academy Trust has a national and international reputation for its outstanding and innovative education and its schools are highly sort after. We are responsible for several Department for Education ‘centres of excellence’, collaborating with teachers and schools across the country to provide professional development and support with school improvement strategies.
Required to start as soon as possible.
We are wishing to recruit a Business Development Manager to support the wider Senior Leadership Team in developing many aspects of the Trust, as it continues its journey of growth.
Alongside the usual day to day events of a trust of primary schools, the Trust also delivers several curriculum hubs, offering advice and support to schools regionally and nationally. The role will require you to work closely with the Curriculum Leads for English, EdTech, Computing, Behaviour and Science, supporting the business and administration aspects of these hubs.
The Trust is proud to provide several traded services to the children and their families, including a well renowned dining service, a café, wrap-around care, holiday clubs, a bus service and nursery provision. You will liaise with the Trust Business Manager to develop these services to ensure they are fit for purpose, with an emphasis on income generation.
In this role, there will be a strong focus on supporting the Head of Schools, Head of Curriculum and Facilities Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the Trust’s activity management across our four schools. You will play a key role in setting up, refining, developing and maintaining processes to achieve this. As such, having a key eye for detail and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
Finally, you will act as the Data Protection Officer for the Trust, ensuring that the Trust and its staff are aware of its duties in relation to GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
We are committed to offering ongoing professional development in support of the postholder. This may include formal qualification via the “ISBL” relating to school business management, and/or where appropriate AAT qualification, and any necessary DPO/GDPR training.
You will have access to the Local Government pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment to help them fulfil their duties and we support all staff with an investment in their professional development through training and a good performance management process, where a bonus is payable to those who achieve highly.
