We are seeking to appoint an Art Technician to join our vibrant and enthusiastic team from October 2019.

The successful candidate will provide assistance in the preparation of resources for lessons plus technical support and advice to staff and students within Art and iArt departments. You will provide and prepare all equipment for art lessons, examinations and exhibitions, and be responsible for general administrative work of the department such as filing, photocopying, checking all stock is ordered and delivered and keeping regular inventory of stock. Additionally, you will provide support to teaching staff in lessons, workshops, trips and taking pictures of students’ work. You will also manage the gallery area, department displays and the set-up of new exhibitions, as well as contribute to whole school displays as and when appropriate.

Experience in the use of audio-visual equipment, including photography, video and sound and digital applications, in addition to good creative skills is essential. You will need to be self-motivated, have good communication and organisational skills and be able to work under pressure. You will also need to demonstrate good ICT skills (Mac and PC platforms) and a strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Art. An ability to work flexible hours is essential to enable support at occasional evening events, exhibition openings and workshops.
