1:1 Autism Specialist
Steiner Academy Exeter is an all-through academy which opened in September 2013. We currently have 440 pupils and will reach full capacity of 620+ pupils in 2021. Our Early Years Department comprises four kindergartens of mixed age-group pupils from Reception and Year 1.
After being placed in Special Measures in October 2018, the acting Principal and Academy Management Committee have developed an exciting plan for improving the school, with access to a wide range of support and expertise from local and national agencies. The school is now entering a phase of redevelopment and transformation to bring the best of Steiner Waldorf education into a mainstream, state of the art provision in the heart of Exeter.
We are now looking to recruit an autism specialist Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil in our kindergarten.
The postholder will be responsible for providing individualised teaching and learning support, will experience and knowledge of autism and be able to apply this to their direct work with pupils in the classroom.
The successful candidate will be inspirational, driven and demonstrate a passion for continual improvement. You will be committed to excellence in teaching, learning and training, have successful experience of delivering a balanced, creative curriculum. Understanding of the Steiner Waldorf curriculum would be an advantage.
