Classroom Support Assistant (Level 3) - Mayfield Special School

Mayfield School Chestnut Annexe in Paignton, are recruiting for an exciting new Level 3 position for Januray 2019.

Mayfield School require a talented and experienced Teaching Assistant to take on a key role in developing a brand new 6 place provision, based at our College Site in Paignton, for children who become permanently excluded from mainstream Primary schools. The role will include assisting in coordinating twelve week assessment placements, managing and supporting transition back to mainstream school.

This position is on a fixed term basis currently until 31.12.2019, but this is subject to ongoing review and then possible TUPE Regulations.

The successful applicant will have proven experience of working with children with challenging and vulnerable behaviours and will be able to demonstrate commitment and expertise in improving educational and social outcomes for them. Knowledge of the primary curriculum and experience of supporting children with a range of interventions in literacy and numeracy is essential. Knowledge of Thrive would be a distinct advantage.

The interview will be a panel interview along with a written task and may include other tasks on the day.
