Marland School is three site special school, one of which is a weekly boarding school for young males aged 10-16 with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. These needs may result in challenging behaviour. The school is located in Peters Marland, 6 miles from Great Torrington.
We are looking for the ‘right’ person to join our professional care team. You must have the ability to support young people with complex needs, and be able to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour. You will have a genuine desire to work with young people and have the ability and skills needed to engage them in social activities, to enjoy being in their company and be passionate about enabling them to succeed.
As a RCW, you will be a key member of the whole school staff team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our students. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build positive relationships with students, their families and key professionals. A relevant level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.
The full time annualised hours (1700 per annum) are averaged out over term time and involve an irregular shift pattern, including early mornings, evenings, split shifts and sleeping-ins but no weekend or school holiday working.
For an informal discussion, please contact Gareth MacIver, Head of Pastoral Care, on 01805 601324.
Pre-interview visits (evenings preferred) are strongly encouraged and welcomed.
To apply, please see the Related Information section.
Your completed application form should be returned to recruitment@Marland.devon.sch.uk.
