We are looking for a Post 16 student to come and join us for one week in the Safer Recruitment Service. 

This is a busy, small and friendly team supporting Devon County Council, Schools, Academies and external organisations, by providing a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) application and support service. The team support Managers and employers by providing access to Criminal records, by way of an application service.   You can read more about the work of the Safer Recruitment Service team at; https://www.devon.gov.uk/working-devon-county-council/safer-recruitment-service/

This placement will involve learning about how employers and organisations can access criminal record information regarding employees, as well as other associated vetting and pre-employment checks:

-       DBS checks

-       Overseas Police checks

-       DBS Barred List checks

-       Verifying identity checks

The person we are looking for should have or be looking to develop: 

-       Good all-round communication skills

-       An interest in recruitment

-       Attention to detail

-       An interest in how to apply legislation to criminal record checking

-       An ability to work as part of a team

-       An interest in understanding how employers ensure potential employees are suitable

-       Ability to manage your time and work to deadlines

Please give some thought as to how you will travel to Great Moor House each day. Unfortunately, Devon County Council cannot reimburse any travel expenses to and from this placement.
