We are looking for a Post 16 student to come and join us for one week in the Internal Audit team.


We are a small, friendly and supportive team who carry out work across the Council.  We also complete work for Plymouth City Council, Torbay Council, Mid Devon District Council, Torridge District Council, South Hams District Council, Blue Light services, Schools and Academies, National Parks and Port Authorities to name a few.


Our main focus is linked to providing assurance to clients that the activities of the council are being undertaken in accordance with internal policy, legislation and best practice, as well as being as efficient as possible.


We use specialist software to record our work and rely heavily on Microsoft IT Systems.  We are exploring the use of products such as Power BI, SharePoint and Microsoft team, looking to see how they can help us record, store, analyse and report data in different ways.


We also provide Risk Management support to Devon County Council and Counter Fraud Services to a number of regional clients.  We have offices in County Hall, Larkbeare House, Torbay and Plymouth and as such, situations permitted you may be taken to visit another office for a specific reason or task.

This placement will involve working closely with the team to support the audits and Risk Management work being carried out at that time.  You will have an opportunity to use the main Microsoft products as well as others such as Power BI, Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business.  The person we are looking for should have or be looking to develop:
