We are looking to appoint trainee teachers through the School Direct route. Applicants will need a minimum of a 2:1 degree and GCSE A-C in Maths, English and Science. You will receive a comprehensive training programme and, if successful, you will achieve qualified teacher status (QTS) along with a PGCE and up to 60 Master level credits awarded by the University of Exeter. We are currently looking for trainees to be placed in schools across North Devon.
As a School Direct trainee teacher, you will be part of a school team from day one. You will receive training from outstanding practitioners across North Devon schools and by visiting lecturers from the University of Exeter. As part of the Primary training programme, you will teach in either Early Years and Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and have the opportunity to experience other schools. For Secondary training, you will teach in your specific subject. This programme is highly tailored to the needs of each individual with opportunities to shape experiences and to develop strengths and specialisms. We are recruiting students with the aim of meeting the future needs of teaching positions across North Devon, therefore career prospects and future employment opportunities are greatly enhanced.
We seek to recruit the highest quality graduates who demonstrate the academic ability and teaching potential to become the outstanding teachers of the future. You must be passionate, highly motivated, hard-working and committed to children and to teaching & learning with excellent organisational skills. Successful applicants will also be committed to becoming a reflective and evaluative practitioner who is proactive and responsive to feedback and guidance.
